Laser Kidney Stone Treatment

By using flexible technology in urology, a special endoscope that can be stretched and bent through the urinary tract without cutting any part of the patient's body or drilling a hole from the outside is entered through the urinary tract and reached into the kidney. With the device called flexible ureterorenoscope, it is possible to reach all the chambers in the kidney due to its flexible structure. There are channels inside these devices with a diameter of about 3 mm that allow the liquid flow and the entrance of the laser. While the stones are turned into powder with the micron diameter laser fibers inserted through these channels during the operation, on the other hand, these stone powders are ensured to leave the body with the fluid flow in the kidney. Larger stone fragments are removed from the body with devices called baskets.
